Attune is a peer-support and information app for families affected by genetic hearing loss. It lets you connect with similar families, follow clinical-trial listings, and keep a private journey timeline.
Attune is not a medical service. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and using it does not create a clinician–patient relationship. Always consult a qualified professional about your or your child's care. Never delay seeking medical advice because of something you read here.
Clinical trial information is drawn from ClinicalTrials.gov, a public NIH database. We surface it for convenience; we do not verify, endorse, or sponsor any trial. Eligibility is determined solely by the trial's own investigators.
You must be 18 or older to hold an Attune account. If you post information about your child, you confirm you are their parent or legal guardian.
You are responsible for keeping your login secure and for everything done through your account.
Attune exists so families in a hard situation can support each other. To keep that true, do not:
Every post, comment, direct message, and profile can be reported with a reason, and any member can be blocked. Reports are reviewed within 24 hours.
We may remove content or suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules — without notice where the safety of the community requires it. We aim to explain our decisions, and you may reply to any enforcement action by contacting support.
Blocking is mutual in effect: a blocked member cannot message you, and you will not see their content.
You keep ownership of everything you post. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, and display your content solely in order to operate Attune. That licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies already in routine backups, which rotate out within 30 days.
Do not post content you do not have the right to post.
Sharing a de-identified profile with Rescue Hearing Institute is optional and off by default. Opting in does not enrol you in any study, does not guarantee you will be contacted, and does not entitle you to any payment. You may withdraw consent at any time in Settings; withdrawal applies going forward and cannot retract data already provided to researchers under a prior consent.
Our handling of your information is governed by the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete account. Deletion is immediate and permanent, and removes your content as described in the Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, or discontinue the service entirely with reasonable notice.
Attune is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that trial information is complete, current, or accurate.
Content posted by other members is theirs, not ours. We do not endorse it and are not responsible for it. Peer experiences are not a substitute for professional advice.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the preceding twelve months, or USD 100. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, in which case they apply to the maximum extent permitted.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
We may update these terms. If a change is material we will notify you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Attune after that means you accept the updated terms.
